It is just a short walk from the River Ant, where guests can walk along the river bank or sit and watch the boating activity. A popular pastime is watching boats navigate the low bridge, and there are refreshments available at the teashop or at the local pub. Coarse fishing is also available on the River Ant (licence required). The medium-sized Broadland village of Ludham is just over a mile away with it selection of shops, cafe and public house. Mill Croft is ideally located for exploring the Broads or the lovely Norfolk coastline. The pretty Broads village of Horning is just a short drive away with waterside teashops and pubs. Take a trip on the river boat and, for the children, visit BeWILDerwood, an outdoor adventure park with tree walks and zip wires. Discover the lovely sandy beaches of Winterton–on–Sea or visit the seal colony at Horsey Gap beach; during the winter months hundreds of grey seal pups can be seen on the beach, an amazing sight. To enjoy the wildlife on offer, a visit to How Hill Nature Reserve is a must. There are also many National Trust properties in the region which are well worth a visit. Alternatively, spend a day in the fine city of Norwich with its cathedrals, museums, castle theatres and array of shops and cafes. Fishing, walking, cycling and sailing are all available locally.
